In 1849, the social reformer and cooperative pioneer Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch founded the world's first industrial cooperative in Delitzsch. His cooperative idea was declared an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO in 2016.

Schulze-Delitz's ideas live on with the unique personal exhibition on display at the museum. On the basis of his biography, a piece of German social, economic and societal history, connecting it to the present. Listening stations, text cubes, wall flaps and numerous exhibits illustrate his approaches to solving the social question in the 19th century.

Since 2016, visitors can get to know Schulze-Delitzsch not only from a museum. A free app takes visitors on a city tour of Schulze-Delitzsch's most important locations and allows those interested to interactively immerse themselves in the era of the first cooperative foundations in Germany.
