The Torhaus is an over 300-years architectural gem and is one of the few remaining Baroque buildings in Leipzig.

The Dölitz Gatehouse with Tin Figure Museum is one of the biggest museums of its kind in Europe. The artistically designed individual figures and tin figure dioramas invite you on a jouney through the history of mankind. One exhibition room focuses on the history and production of the tin figure. It shows you everything, you need to know about the tin figure - from its creation, drawing, engraving to casting, painting and building dioramas.There are a permanent exhibition of cultural-historical tin figures and numerous historically valuable exhibits on three floors. The main focus of the exhibition is the Napoleonic era with the Battle of the Nations in 1813. The highlight of the gatehouse is the large historical diorama of the Battle of the Nations (approx. 25m²). Also experience, who the cityscape of Leipzig has changed over the centuries. Marvel at the diverse history of Dölitz - a place Goethe loved to visit during his study time in Leipzig. In addition there are numerous dioramas on antiquity (e.g. Babylon), the Middle Ages and the events of the 18th century.Constantly changing special exhibitions as well as the museum shop, where you can buy not only tin figures but also books on the topics of tin figures, the Battle of the Nations and Napoleon, round off the overall picture of the exhibition.
