pedestrian zone
Leipzig's most famous bar mile is located in the area around Barfußgässchen. A stroll along Drallewatsch is an absolute must.

The Barfußgässchen was founded in 1996 by two dozen Leipzig innkeepers and is called Drallewatsch. Drallewatsch is a Saxon word and means "to experience something" and "to stroll from pub to pub".

In the oldest part of the city, you can also get an impression of how densely built up the city center used to be. Historic buildings from the Renaissance, Baroque and Wilhelminian periods stand close together. Here in Barfußgasse, Fleischergasse and Klostergasse, you will find many restaurants with a wide variety of offerings - from traditional restaurants to trendy bars.
