The Festwiese Leipzig offers space for up to 70,000 visitors, which means that it can be used for open-air events of all kinds. Numerous international artists and live acts like Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode or the Rolling Stones have performed here. One-day festivals, outdoor cinemas or company events also regularly take place in the field in front of the Red Bull Arena. The site covers a total area of 40,000 square meters and is bordered by grass embankment that can accessed by stairs and ramps.
The historical complex is a registered landmark and is also freely accessible to visitors outside of events.
