Gable Windmill Ballendorf

Short facts

The windmill, built in 1684, is still in its original form and fully functional.

The Ballendorf Gable Windmill was built in 1684. 150 years later, in 1834, it was blown over in a thunderstorm and rebuilt in 1835. Until 1953, the mill was powered by wind energy and later, until 1973, by electricity. The windmill is still in its original form and fully functional.
