Gallery for Contemporary Art

  • Gallery
The Gallery of Contemporary Art is a partner of the Leipzig Card/ Leipzig Regio Card.
The benefits are described under "Good to know/ Price information".

The Gallery of Contemporary Art is one of the first ports of call for lovers of contemporary art. Various artistic positions are represented.

The Foundation Gallery for Contemporary Art Leipzig (GfZK for short) is an exhibition venue for contemporary art, which primarily focuses on the period after 1945. Since its opening in 1998, the Gallery of Contemporary Art has developed into one of the leading institutions for contemporary art in the new federal states and throughout Europe.

The gallery offers visitors a wide range of opportunities: visiting important exhibitions - sometimes also on controversial issues of contemporary art - as well as discussions with artists and curators in the café or in the garden, reading publications on contemporary art in the library or participating in one of the innovative educational programs of the "GfZK FÜR DICH".

The café, the garden and the store are conceived and designed by artists - like DAS KAPITAL or the Café 292 Karangahape Road.

The gallery for contemporary art also offers many activities for kindergartens and school classes as well as special vacation programs. Events for children also take place at weekends.
