The Erbs brickyard is almost completely preserved and in working order after more than 100 years.
In 1911, the Erbs brick factory began producing 2.5 million clay bricks per year for the regional market, culminating in a daily quantity of 20,000 solid bricks. Ten to twelve women and men did the hard work in the season from spring to winter for the Erbs and Zobel families. The drying shed and kiln are preserved in almost their original condition. Bucket chain excavator, tipper lorry runway, Berlin bucket carts, and grave timber can still be admired in working order, as well as bricks made by hand.
