For over 30 years, this small family business from Markranstädt has been making handcrafted jewellery and children's toys from locally sourced wood. The lathe work, sanding, painting and cutting are done lovingly by hand, and the wood is all sourced from the nearby Leipzig Floodplain Forest. Holz Liebe creates some 300 different products including traditional wooden toys such as tops and building sets, dollhouse furniture and accessories, and working miniatures. All these local products are made with a high degree of precision and quality and both the materials and functionality of the scale miniatures are true to the original.
The entire process from product development and manufacturing to sales is handled in-house. Customers are invited to visit the wooden toymaker's workshop to see for themselves how accurate the precision crafting is, often down to a tenth of a millimetre.
