The Karl-Heine-Straße, a trendy area in the west of Leipzig, offers not only great shops but also an excellent selection of restaurants and cultural venues.
The Karl-Heine-Straße is the most well-know street in the Plagwitz industrial district. It is home to cultural venues such as Da Capo, the Schaubühne Lindenfels, the Westwerk and lots of hip pubs. An approximately 90-hectare monument to industrial architecture has been preserved in Plagwitz, the scope of which is unrivalled in Germany.
On the waterways, especially on the Karl-Heine-Canal, there are actual Venetian gondolas, and personal boat trips are possible year-round. Many cafés and resturants have made their homes on the banks of the waterways. From here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the fascinating surroundings.
