Kleines Joachimsthal (Hainstraße/Kleiner Fleischergasse)

Short facts

  • Leipzig
  • Pedestrian zone, Destinations

In the 18th century, the Kleines Joachimsthal was considered one of the best-known restaurants in Leipzig.

The narrow Kleines Joachimsthal business building is connected to the house in Kleiner Fleischergasse 8 and was one of the headquarters for Leipzig textile merchants. During the Second World War, the building was largely destroyed and only restored again in 1996 and 1997 and extended with a new, modern building.

The building façade is made of sandstone and has large windows. The impressive appearance of the three-storey oriel and segmental arch gable outdoes the other features.
