Monument to the Battle of the Nations and FORUM 1813

The monument commemorates the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig as well as the more than 110,000 people who lost their lives in the course of the mass battle.

It is arguably Leipzig's best-known landmark, commemorating the historic Battle of the Nations against Napoleon in the autumn of 1813. Climb 364 steps to enjoy a phenominal panoramic view of Leipzig and its surroundings from the observation deck.


The FORUM 1813 museum is integrated into the monument complex and offers spectacular insights into the events of the liberation wars and their climax, the decisive Battle of the Nations near Leipzig.
