Two Bronze Age burial mounds near Frauwalde are evidence of an early settlement in the area. The Dresden State Office for Archaeology dates them to around 1,400 to 900 BC. In the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Prehistory and Early History (as the geoportal of the Porphyry Land Geopark), visitors can see finds from the Neolithic Age, the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Sorbian settlement period and the German repopulation period.
