naTo

Short facts

naTo is the oldest independent cultural centre in Leipzig has been known as a forum for experimental jazz, free theatre, performances and music since the 1980s.

naTo is located directly on Südplatz, in the heart of Leipzig's Südvorstadt. It is run by the association Kultur- und Kommunikationszentrum naTo e.V. The cultural programme includes concerts, art house cinema, readings, theatre performances and events on political topics. Every summer, naTo organises legendary open-air events such as the naTo Cup, the soapbox derby (Prix de Tacot) on the Fockeberg and the bathtub regatta (Régates de Baquet) in front of the Monument to the Battle of the Nations.

The association AG Kommunales Kino - Cinémathèque Leipzig e.V. also operates an art house cinema in the naTo. Experience new films from all over the world, usually in their original language with subtitles, in film series and retrospectives.
