In the Residenz, you can experience experimental theatrical forms or you can simply take over the Residenz stage yourself – dancing.
The Residenz is a Schauspiel Theatre Leipzig venue that is exclusively available for independently produced projects. On the grounds of the Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei in Hall 18, artists of various genres work on and implement themed performative productions intermedially as "artists in residence" for a period of six to eight weeks.
Independently of the repertoire of the Schauspielhaus theatre, the Residenz seeks to try out different aesthetics and working methods in the theatre. Dance and visual arts have their place here as well as speech performances and music. The working methods are open, procedural and experimental.
