Stentzlers Hof (Petersstraße/Peterskirchhof)

Short facts

  • Leipzig
  • Other, Pedestrian zone,…

Stentzlers Hof connects Petersstraße with the Peterskirchhof. Life pulsates around the imposing corner building on Petersstraße - then and now.

Built between 1914 and 1916 by Leopold Stentzler, the monumental reinforced concrete structure is particularly striking from the outside because of its rich figurative decorative elements made of shell limestone. It has some very characteristic features resulting from its many years of hosting trade fairs.

In the courtyard with a glass ceiling, a two-storey early Baroque oriel dating from around 1690 is a real eye-catcher.
