The stone adventure area is a playable boulder garden with various play elements and is located on the Störmthal Canal, not far from the canoe park lock and bascule bridge. As the final stage of development, the adventure points of the 14 km long geo-trail along the Markkleeberg and Störmthal lakes will be centrally connected here. Along the recreated ice age stream there are numerous large and small boulders from the ice age, adventure stations with stones and evidence from the tertiary period in the form of tertiary quartzites and silicified wood.
The stone adventure area is around 2.000 square meters in size and has six playable adventure stations. Starting with a two-meter-high climbing rock, along a stream swing and a climbing tree, the children can get active themselves in a shaded fossil sandpit in the center of the facility and uncover evidence of the earth's history. Splashing and making mud in the stream is expressly encouraged.
Various seating and rest areas invite you to linger.
Depending on the temperature, the stream is in operation from around Easter until the end of the October holidays.
