The Academy of Visual Arts (HGB) is one of the oldest and most renowned art academies in Germany. Throughout its 250-year history, the school in Leipzig's music district has produced countless other talents alongside the masters of the New Leipzig School, such as Neo Rauch. In the 5 courses of studies photography, media art, painting and graphics, book art and graphic design as well as the master's course "Cultures of the Curatorial", approximately 600 students are pursuing their future in the creative economy. A highlight for visitors are the academy's galleries, where students exhibit their work, and the annual tour, where visitors can take a look behind the scenes of the talent hotbed.
