Wermsdorf, which was first mentioned in 1206 in a document, owes its current fame to its scenic attractions and its interesting heritage which was shaped by Saxon history. The Saxon rulers, including August the Strong, were already visiting Wermsdorf for relaxation purposes. Wermsdorf was officially awarded the title of a "State-approved resort" in 2004. Our tourist information centre is located in the old hunting lodge (Altes Jagdschloss), the older and smaller of the two castles in Wermsdorf.
