Experience the forest with all your senses – "WaldErlebnisScheune' greets children, teenagers and adults alike. Go on a journey by the forest ranger.
Experience the forest with all your senses – with this motto, 'WaldErlebnisScheune' in Heidedorf, Taura greets children, teenagers and adults alike. Go on a journey of discovery through the layers of forest, accompanied by the forest ranger. A special attraction on this journey is a pine tree, which, in its entirety, (roots, trunk and corolla) can be found in the barn. From the roots through to the corolla area, the forest habitat can be experienced. The aim is to awaken an understanding of processes in nature and to bring to life for everyone the reciprocal relationship between humans and the forest. The forest is not only the natural habitat of countless species of plants and animals to be discovered, but is also of particular importance to people who use it for hiking, cycling or other leisure activities.
Waltraude, the red ant, is the WaldErlebnisScheune's mascot and simultaneously, its symbolic leader on the teaching and experience path, Waldameisenstraße, an adventurous stretch with various stations. Not only can you discover red ants and their impressive constructions, but also experience how people used the forest in bygone times, the consequences that had for the forest and how this continues to affect the forest today. Here, you can feel the rhythm of nature with all your senses.
