Saxony's Obstland ("Fruit Country")

In the middle of Saxony is a region that is not only popular because of its lovely hilly landscape but also because of its cultural and historical sights: the Saxon Obstland. Many of the attractions here are literally "on everyone's lips", because there are numerous extensive fruit plantations whose products are in great demand far beyond Saxony.

Between Leisnig, Grimma and Mügeln, apples, pears, quinces, plums, sweet and sour cherries, strawberries, currants and raspberries ripen in large quantities every year under favourable climatic conditions. These fruits, as well as products made from them (especially fruit juices and fruit wines), are successfully marketed under the name "Sachsenobst".

Discover and, more importantly, enjoy the tasty side of the Leipzig region in the Saxon Obstland ("fruit country")!
