The Luther Trail in Saxony

"It is good for us to be free from our daily burdens..."

The Luther Trail in Saxony invites you to visit the historical sites of the Reformation. It takes you to places where the Reformation gained a foothold quickly and it connects cities, sites and places where Martin Luther and his companions served.

Walk around the sights, secret areas and places of interest of the Reformation in the Leipzig region – past idyllic landscapes, forests, swamps and lakes and through the city of Leipzig.

Among the highlights are the monasteries, Buch Monastery, Marienthal and Nimbschen Convent, from which Katharina von Bora, later Luther's wife, fled as a nun.

On the Luther trail, idyllic hiking trails leading to historical locations are waiting to be discovered.
