Historic railways in the Leipzig Region
Auensee Park Railway
The park railway runs on a loop around the adjoining Auensee from April to October. The most exciting part: the train is always run by the kids themselves!
Meuselwitz Coal Railway & Museum
For several centuries, the northern "Altenburger Land" was characterised by coal mining. The coal excavated in the opencast mines had to be transported cheaply to the briquette plants and at the same time the accumulated colliery waste had to be disposed
