Fishing in the Leipzig Region
This is paradise for anglers
Discover the diverse bodies of water in the Leipzig Region. Lakes and attractive rivers such as Mulde and Zschopau, romantically situated in wooded areas, will delight you with their unique flora and fauna.
These sites are just as attractive for local anglers as they are for those who travel from far and wide, especially as the lakes and rivers hide so many culinary delights. With a little luck, anglers can catch more than just magnificent catfish, carp, tench, pike and zander - you may even hook an eel!

The legal provisions are based on the Saxon Fisheries Act, the Saxon Nature Conservation Act, the Saxon Water Act and the Saxon Fish Waters Ordinance, among others.
The regulations noted on the permit/catch card must be observed. Every angler must always carry with him a fishing licence, a fishing permit and a fishing card, which, if not filled in and not signed, are not valid. They are to be handed over upon request. Likewise, fishing gears and any fish caught are to be presented upon request. In addition, any special terms relating to the carrying out of angling activities should be specified in the permit and on the fishing map. Should these terms be violated, the fishing supervisor and any other authorised persons reserve the right to withhold the permit and the Angling Club Membership Book against receipt. Children under 10 years of age are only allowed to fish under supervision. They are not allowed to have their own fishing tackle nor are they allowed to bait or kill the fish themselves. Children aged between 10 and 16 years old may fish, provided they are being supervised by an adult angler at all times. Minors must be in possession of a fishing licence for young persons and a permit for the relevant waters.
