Far away from the noise, hustle and bustle of everyday life, but still close to the big city, there are numerous camping and motorhome pitches that invite you to explore and linger. Whether with a caravan, motorhome or tent, cozy or comfortable, small pitch or large park - every camper will find their own paradise here. Below is a selection of camping and motorhome pitches close to the city.

Leipzig
If you want to experience the cultural metropolis of Leipzig but would rather spend the night in nature, you can set up camp all year round at the Melinenburg campsite (Stöhrerstrasse 3) in the north of Leipzig. 30 caravan and motorhome pitches here offer overnight accommodation. The city centre can be reached by bike in 15 minutes. The Nordost natural swimming pool is within walking distance of the campsite.
The campsite directly on Lake Kulkwitz (Seestrasse 1), about ten kilometres west of the town centre, provides a maritime flair. You can camp here with your motorhome from April to October. The site's facilities include a sanitary building, a kitchen, a lake garden, a playground and the sandy beach of Lake Kulkwitz. With its underwater park with visibility of over ten metres, Lake Kulkwitz is one of the most popular diving waters in central Germany. Surfing, sailing and fishing enthusiasts are also in the right place at Lake Kulkwitz. There is also the opportunity to go wakeboarding, water skiing, stand-up paddling and rowing and pedal boating.
The KNAUS Campingpark Leipzig (Gustav-Esche-Straße 5) is idyllically located in the Leipzig Auenwald. There are 157 caravan and trailer pitches available for holidaymakers. Camping is also possible. The dog-friendly facility also offers a multi-purpose sports field, a tennis court, a playground and covered barbecue areas for varied leisure activities. A washing machine and a tumble dryer are also available. The Leipzig Auensee is about 200 meters away and can be explored on a leisurely walk or a boat trip. Swimming enthusiasts can visit the "Ökobad Lindenthal", about three kilometers from the camping park.

Grossposna
The municipality of Großpösna with its lovingly renovated districts is located about 20 kilometers south of Leipzig. A magnet for visitors is the 7,2 square kilometer Störmthaler Lake, which with its turquoise blue water and numerous bathing areas is a paradise for water lovers of all ages. 3D archery, motorboat trips, sailing trips and windsurfing are offered around the lake. Anyone who wants to pitch their tents here will find a comfortable 3-star mobile home port at the LAGOVIDA holiday resort. 50 caravan and mobile home pitches invite visitors to stay directly on the Störmthaler Lake from April to October. A supply station with electricity and water at each pitch, a service building with showers, toilets, sink, washing machine and dryer ensure that special feeling of well-being. This means that a longer stay is also possible without any problems.

Markkleeberg
The large district town of Markkleeberg is located at the southern gates of Leipzig and offers peace and relaxation as well as numerous leisure opportunities for active activities. There are two popular local recreation areas in the Markkleeberg urban area: Lake Cospuden and Lake Markkleeberg. Camping enthusiasts will get their money's worth at the latter. At Seepark Auenhain on Lake Markkleeberg (Am Feriendorf 2), six caravan and motorhome pitches invite guests to camp all year round in the immediate vicinity of Lake Markkleeberg. In addition to the pitch, there is also the option of booking breakfast or half board. There are numerous offers for families with children at the certified family-friendly accommodation facility. A large pool and sauna area, the "Seepferdchen" children's playhouse and an adventure playground are available to young and old holidaymakers here.
If you prefer something a little more individual, you will find 36 caravan and motorhome pitches and 26 tent pitches a little further north at Campinghof Bartl (Bornaer Chaussee 12). Here, too, various services such as a barbecue rental service, a children's playground, bicycle rental and a pool round off the holistic offer.

Neukieritzsch
Also located in the southern Leipzig Neuseenland, the municipality of Neukieritzsch is in the immediate vicinity of the popular bathing lake Hainer See. Here you will find the "Camping Hain" campsite, which can be used from April to October. With 50 caravan and motorhome pitches and 20 tent pitches, it offers plenty of space for nature lovers. There is a designated dog beach on the lake as well as a bicycle, boat and SUP rental service. On the south bank of the Hainer See, embedded in the historic village of Kahnsdorf, are the Kahnsdorf Lagoon and the Kahnsdorf Estate. Friedrich Schiller also stayed in the so-called Schiller House on the Kahnsdorf Estate in 1785 and found inspiration here for his famous ode "Ode to Joy". The connection to the Lutherweg Sachsen, the Pleiße cycle path and the "Via Imperii" pilgrimage trail makes interesting excursions along nature-oriented paths in the region possible for users of the campsite. Anyone who would like to find out more about the active open-cast mining in the region can do so at the Vereinigtes Schleenhain open-cast mining lookout point (Alte B176 Neukieritzsch).

Rackwitz
The municipality of Rackwitz offers guests north of Leipzig numerous activities and cultural activities. Historic churches and former mansions in the town center as well as various water sports on Lake Schladitzer ensure a varied vacation. Those arriving with a caravan or wanting to camp will find what they are looking for at the CAMP DAVID Sport Resort by ALL-on-SEA (Haynaer Straße 1). Here, 60 caravan and motorhome pitches and 50 tent pitches invite guests to relax and be active. In the resort's water sports school, beginners and advanced learners can learn the art of sailing, surfing or freediving, among other things. The Biedermeier beach on the Hayna shore of Lake Schladitzer promises cultural entertainment. Here, guests can enjoy musical performances and concerts in a historic setting.
