The Museum of Ancient Art at the University of Leipzig is a partner of the Leipzig Card/Leipzig Regio Card.

The old Nikolaischule houses the University of Leipzig’s Museum of Antiquities, with over 800 remains of life in the ancient Mediterranean.

The second largest collection of ancient art in Saxony is housed on the first floor of the historic building of the “Alte Nikolaischule”.

Through objects from more than 3.500 years of human history, the mythology, religion and funeral customs of Greco-Roman antiquity can be experienced.

The Museum of Antiquities in the old Nikolai School also includes the plaster cast collection of the University of Leipzig..
It is located at Dittrichring 13 (entry is via the doorbell of the G2 art gallery) on the first floor. Admission is free.

The Museum of Antiquities remains closed on public holidays.
Closing days: Monday, Tuesday

Price adult: 4,00 €

Price child: Free entry

Reduced price: 2,00 €

On the first Wednesday of the month, admission is free for all visitors.

Children up to 6 years old get free admission.

Arrival & Parking

By public transport: The nearest stop is Leipzig, Markt (S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S5X and bus line 89). From there it is about a 400 m walk. Other nearby stops include: Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main train station), Goerdelerring, and Augustusplatz.

By car: Use of the surrounding parking garages in the city center, such as Q-Park Am Museumswinkel, Q-Park Marktgalerie and Parkhaus B+B.
