It looks like new, but is already quite old: the Düben windmill north of Leipzig was built in 1840. Post mills were of a simple construction and could be moved if necessary. Almost 70 percent of the historic windmill was reused in its reconstruction and rebuilding. The mill technology is even completely preserved and functional. The Düben Heath Museum Village Association, with the support of public and private donors, has given the mill in Bad Düben a new future. The unusual windmill welcomes its guests from afar, which not only encourages cyclists to take a welcome rest. A tour shows what high-quality mill craftsmanship can achieve.
