The Gewandhaus in Leipzig hosts around 800 events a year. Gewandhausorchester his symphony concerts in the Great Hall, while the Gewandhaus chamber music is presented in the somewhat smaller Mendelssohn Hall.
Concerts by well-known music stars are held regularly and it is a popular location for lectures and conferences. The large hall has a total capacity of 1.900 visitors and is home to the majestic Schuke organ. The Gewandhaus box office is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m. on concert days until the start of the concert.
On Saturdays, the Gewandhaus box office is open from 10:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. and always one hour before the concert begins.
During the summer break from June 30 to August 17, 2025, adjusted opening hours apply: Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 15 p.m., closed on Saturdays.
