Heimatturm Colditz

lookout point/tower
Attractions
The observation tower was built in 1901 for the first Colditz home festival in just 10 weeks. It was originally 18,70 meters high, but after the superstructure was damaged by lightning, the tower was raised to 20 meters. When the weather is good, the home tower is open to visitors on Saturdays from 13.00 p.m. and Sundays from 12.00 p.m. On a clear day, you can see the Fichtelberg in the Ore Mountains and the Battle of the Nations Monument in Leipzig. The operators offer cold and hot meals, cakes, ice cream and cold and hot drinks during opening hours.
