Hildebrandt organ in the Kreuzkirche Störmthal

Zacharias Hildebrandt (1688 - 1757) was a journeyman of Gottfried Silbermann (1713 -1722) from 1683 to 1753. He worked independently from 1722/23, and in 1722 the contract for the construction of the Störmthal organ was signed between him and the patron Hilmar Statz von Fullen. On November 2nd, 1723, Johann Sebastian Bach inspected the organ and "recognized and praised it as efficient and consistent." I/14. Hildebrandt took over the maintenance and care himself until 1754. There were several repairs and changes to the disposition up until 1905. After repair work in 1934 and 1974, a fundamental restoration and reconstruction to the state of 2008 was carried out in 1723 by Hermann Eule Orgelbau, Bautzen.
