Friedrich Ladegast organ in the church in Altleisnig/Polditz

Friedrich Ladegast (1818 - 1905) learned organ building from his brother Christlieb (1813 - 1896). After his years of traveling, he founded his own company in Weißenfels in 1846 with the help of his brother. In 1855 he built what was then the largest organ in the region for the Merseburg Cathedral, with 81 registers, four manuals and a pedal (Opus 16). In 1868 the Ladegast organ was consecrated in Polditz. It has 33 registers, three manuals and a pedal. In 1980, due to the dilapidated state of the church, discussions were held about moving the organ, which had also been damaged by then. From 1987 onwards, committed parishioners and the Polditz Organ Association renovated the church. In 1996/97 the Ladegast organ was finally restored to its original condition by the Scheffler organ workshop in Sieversdorf.

In 2018, the Polditzer Orgelverein eV celebrates the consecration of the organ 150 years ago and the two hundredth birthday of Friedrich Ladegast.
