Leipzig market square

For Leipzig residents and tourists, the market square is the central point of contact in the city center. The S-Bahn has its own stop here, from which you can easily reach the city's main attractions (Völkerschlachtdenkmal, main train station, trade fair) and the Leipzig region. From the market square, the city center can also be easily reached on foot - discover numerous sights such as the Nikolai and Thomas churches, the Uniriesen or the passages and courtyards worth seeing.

The Old Town Hall with the City History Museum is also located directly on the market square. Throughout the year you will find a wide variety of markets and events here: Easter market, wine festival, Leipzig Market Music, market days and, last but not least, of course, the Christmas market. The weekly market attracts visitors twice a week with fresh regional products. A large number of shopping centers and shopping opportunities around the market reinforce its function as the center of the city.
