Markranstädt

In the middle of the metropolitan region of Central Germany and right outside the gates of Leipzig, the town of Markranstädt has developed into a first-class place for leisure, living, housing and working. Lake Kulkwitz, one of the oldest lakes in Leipzig's New Lake District, is one of the most popular destinations in the region and one of the most important diving areas. According to the ADAC test from 2013, it is one of the three lakes in Germany with the best bathing water quality out of 41 lakes tested and received the rating "very good".

The St. Laurentius Church is located in the heart of Markranstädt. It is not only a place for the Evangelical Lutheran parish, but is also open for concerts, such as the "Markranstädter Musiksommer" and for exhibitions. With Altranstädt Castle, in the district of the same name, guests will find a destination where history was once made with the "Altranstädter Frieden" and the "Altranstädter Konvention".
