The older part of the church is a Romanesque structure with a semicircular vaulted apse at the rectangular chancel. The Gothic remodeling took place before the great church fire of 1557. Afterward, the church building was repeatedly rebuilt and rebuilt in keeping with the spirit of the times and the devastation of contemporary events. During the Thirty Years' War, the parish church was repeatedly plundered and vandalized. In 1696, the church received a Baroque tower above the choir.
