Gottfried Richter (1643 - 1717) from Döbeln/Saxony was an organ builder, mayor and city judge. The construction of the Pomßen organ by G. Richter is documented by the text of the preserved organ consecration sermon from Palm Sunday 1671. With a "short octave" and a mean-tone tuning, both the sound concept and the facade design still correspond entirely to the type of a Renaissance organ. I/12. In 1727, the reed register Cornetten 2' in the pedal was replaced by a Viola bass 8'. During the reconstruction and restoration that took place between 2000 and 2006, the Viola bass 8' was retained on a separate wind chest. The 4 wedge bellows from 1696 in the tower behind the organ come from the castle church in Zwickau-Planitz.
