The Schiller House is the oldest literary memorial in Germany. Schiller worked on his works here in the summer of 1785. 

The Schiller House in Leipzig-Gohlis was Friedrich Schiller's summer residence in 1785. It is the oldest surviving farmhouse in the Leipzig region and also Germany's oldest literary memorial.

As one of the branches of the Leipzig City History Museum, the museum's exhibition, with around 100 exhibits, is dedicated to the literary works and Leipzig theater performances of the famous poet. In the summer months, theater performances, concerts and readings in the beautiful Schiller Garden invite you to linger and enjoy.

Admission to the permanent exhibition and the garden of the Schiller House is free.
Information on reduced prices: For LEIPZIG CARD holders: free admission to the permanent exhibition and reduced admission to special exhibitions. Free admission for all persons up to and including the age of 19 (in all exhibitions).

Arrival & Parking

Public transport: The nearest stop is Leipzig, Menckestraße (line 4). The destination is less than 100 m away on foot. Other stops in the vicinity: Fritz-Seger-Straße (line 12).

The Schillerhaus is located in the northern part of Leipzig in Gholis-Süd and is easily accessible via Gerberstr., Eutritzscherstr. and Gohliser Straße.
