Schkeuditz

Historical site
Attractions
Schkeuditz is nestled between the floodplain forest, Leipzig/Halle Airport and Lake Schladitzer.

Numerous well-developed and natural cycle paths cross the city and its diverse districts and invite you to explore. Musical performances, concerts and readings take place on the Biedermeier beach on the Hayna shore of Lake Schladitzer in the summer months.

Culture explorers can also experience all sorts of things in Schkeuditz. Planetarium programs are regularly held in the astronomical center. The manor church in the nearby Kleinliebenau district, which lies on the former Via Regia and is known as a place of pilgrimage, also has a Friedrich Gerhardt organ. The 17-meter-high Gerbisdorf paddle wheel, visible from afar, is a reminder of the former open-cast mine in the region.
