St. Anne's Church was already mentioned as a landmark of Seelitz around 1200. After the building was destroyed by the Hussites, the current church was built in the Gothic style between 1500 and 1560.
The baroque style of the interior was introduced in the 18th century with the galleries, the ceiling, the pews, the baptismal font, the altar and the pulpit. The historic church complex was enriched by the rectory, which was built in 1793, the substitute house and the former church school. In 1907, the church received a new organ from the Rochlitz organ builder Alfred Schmeißer. The tower and ceiling were restored between 1957 and 1961, and extensive external plastering work followed in 1975/76. The third bell was purchased in 1981.
