St. Mary's Church Rötha

Church
The Church of St. Mary in Rötha is a Gothic former pilgrimage church.
Construction began around 1510/1520, but the originally planned large church was never completed, so today mainly the chancel remains. Characteristic features include the late Gothic hall church with its net-vaulted ceiling and three-sided apse, complemented by exterior buttresses and pointed-arch windows. Inside, Baroque furnishings from the early 18th century, such as galleries, pulpit, and pews, define the space. Particularly noteworthy is the historic Silbermann organ from 1722/1724, which, after being temporarily removed in the 20th century, is once again in the church and is still used for concerts today.
