The accessible Victory Tower, built in 1871 on the 264 m high Wachberg from serpentine stone to commemorate the Franco-Prussian War, is visible from afar. From the viewing platform at a height of around 20 m, visitors have a magnificent panoramic view of the city itself, its wooded hills and also into the distance. In clear weather, the Ore Mountains and the Battle of the Nations Monument in Leipzig can be seen. There is also an attractive view of the steel bridge with the Heiligenborn Viaduct behind it. The Waldheim Beautification Association played a major role in the construction of the observation tower, which also built the paths and staircases and reforested the mountain.
