Observatory "Yuri Gagarin" Eilenburg

Observatory
The Eilenburg Yuri Gagarin Observatory has been a meeting point for astronomy enthusiasts since 1964. The planetarium on the Mansberg has a dome diameter of 6 meters and offers space for 40 people. There are age-appropriate lectures for school classes and public family presentations. Observation evenings are also offered regularly from October to March. The bright and computer-controlled mirror telescope allows viewers to view the starry sky up close.

The planetary trail, which starts southwest at the Eilenburg Zoo and leads to the Bobritz Dam, illustrates the distances and sizes of our planetary system over a length of 2,8 kilometers.
