On the first Sunday of Advent, the historic small town of Pegau ushers in the contemplative Christmas season with the Christmas market on the decorated church square and the Advent mass in the open community center. The church square smells of fruity mulled wine and fresh waffles. The numerous market stalls invite you to stroll around. There are Christmas trees, bath accessories, candles, self-sewn children's clothing, hats, bags, honey and mead and many other Christmas items. The town of Pegau has also put together a colorful children's program with a nostalgic train, pony rides and a cheerful handicraft street. If it's too cold outside, you can take a detour to the community center. The Advent mass is taking place again in the community center. The stalls have long been occupied. Once again, over 30 stalls will offer everything the Christmas heart desires. Pictures, cards, jewelry, carvings, crocheted, knitted, bobbin-laced, sewn, spun, painted and much more. Simply a colorful range of Christmas items.
From 12 noon to 19 pm the entire church square will be closed to traffic, the Pegau city administration announced.
In addition, the Pegau City Library is once again setting up the traditional wish tree. The wish tree fulfills 24 book wishes, which Santa Claus will give away to shining children during the Christmas market.
