“Apels Garten” is a traditional restaurant in the heart of Leipzig. In addition to Saxon cuisine based on historically handed down recipes, guests are offered everything they need for a special Leipzig-style gourmet experience. The traditional dishes are also combined with international delicacies.
The name "Apel's Garden" is based on the earlier baroque garden of the same name. Around 1700, the merchant Andreas Dietrich Apel inherited the Biering Garden, which had already existed since 1629, and from then on he expanded it himself. The fan-shaped park was located in what is now the inner western part of the city and existed until around 1800. The area was then built on.
