Schkeuditz Astronomical Center

Observatory
The Schkeuditz Astronomy Centre takes visitors on a journey into the universe.

The planetarium offers a realistic representation of the starry sky and the solar system on the 8-meter dome – at any time and at any point on Earth.

Impressive planetarium programs, accompanied by ethereal sounds, offer fascinating insights into the sun, moon, stars, and galaxies. Comets, Jupiter's moon system, meteors, and artificial satellites can also be realistically depicted. On clear days, the observatory provides a space to observe the night sky and the sun.

The classroom, equipped with 32 seats, is used by numerous schools for astronomy lessons.
Public planetarium shows for children and adults are held regularly on the last Sunday of each month, usually at 16:00 PM. Reservations are recommended. Open stargazing sessions are also offered regularly, often several times a month. If the weather doesn't cooperate, an alternative program is always available.

All events are in Calendar of Events a DAK Bungalow.
