Schkeuditz Astronomical Center

The planetarium offers a natural representation of the starry sky, the moon and the bright planets on the 8-meter dome – at any time and at any point on Earth or in the solar system.

In impressive planetarium programs, you can learn a lot of interesting things about the sun, moon, stars and galaxies while listening to spherical sounds. Comets, the Jupiter moon system, shooting stars (meteors) and artificial satellites can also be shown in a lifelike manner. When the sky is clear, you can observe the starry sky and the sun in the observatory. 

The classroom, which has 32 seats, is used by all Schkeuditz schools for astronomy lessons.
On the last Sunday of every month at 16:00 p.m. sharp, there are regular public planetarium events for children and adults. Reservations are recommended. Sky observations for everyone only take place from November to March, every first Friday of the month. They usually start at 18:00 p.m. with an introduction to the planetarium.

• Group events for daycare centers, clubs, church communities, companies and private individuals for various occasions, such as weddings, birthdays, children's birthdays, Christmas parties, etc.
• Special tours for holiday planning or special astronomical events
• training events for trainees or teachers

Special events are possible by arrangement with the Nordsachsen District Office and the “Astronomical Center Schkeuditz” observatory.
