Located at the "entrance" to the Burgaue nature reserve and the Lützschena castle park, the Auwaldstation invites young and old guests all year round to get to know one of the most beautiful and valuable natural areas in the region. With a wealth of information on nature topics and a wide range of excursions, hikes, workshops and creative workshops, the Auwaldstation sees itself as an educational center and a place of encounter. Both on the ground floor of the building and in the outdoor areas, various experience areas provide information on numerous environmental and nature topics. The focus is on the Leipzig Auwald and the castle park. The second podcast episode of "Welcome to Leipzig" on the topic of "Hiking and cycling in Leipzig" includes an interview with the managing director Sebastian Günther and more facts about the local nature area and its animal inhabitants.
