The Bitterfeld Arch is a structure in the form of a steel arch bridge.
In August 2006, another work of art was presented to the public. With the "Bitterfelder Bogen", the artist Prof. Claus Bury from Frankfurt am Main created a unique vantage point over the region's newly created cultural and lake landscape on a former dump.

The arched structure is supported by two pointed oval wings placed diagonally to each other and extends downwards in three stages. A ramp system with a 6° incline is suspended in the two spaces between them. The two pairs of wings of the overall architecture are clearly inclined inwards, which gives the arch both additional elegance and static stability. The ramps mentioned lead upwards in an elongated zigzag course, two times five footpaths made of non-slip and close-meshed galvanized steel gratings. All paths are stepless and secured by metal railings made of tight, rhythmic rod grids. Each bend of the 540-meter-long hiking trail has a small platform including a bench. The top ramp ends in a balcony that extends over the arch and invites you to linger high above Bitterfeld.
