Blauer Hecht (Nikolaistraße)
Blauer Hecht is the name of a commercial building in Leipzig's city centre. The former fur trade building is connected to Reichsstraße via a passage and is a listed building.
Built in 1911/1912, it got its animal name from the former Leipzig inn "Zum Blauen Hecht". The house sign with a blue pike at the entrance to the passage still bears witness to this today.
The facade of the building is clad in limestone, with pillars representing capital-like finishes in the shape of animal heads. The figurative elements refer to the tobacco products traded during the fair.
