The current post mill was built in 1812. It is still fully functional today. Visitors can learn about the milling trade and find out how flour is made from grain. Outside, visible from afar, are the rotating windmill blades, and inside the cogwheel, millstones, sifters and elevators in motion - this is how the milling steps work together. What is particularly attractive for visitors is the "turning into the wind" of the mill, because it is no longer turned piece by piece with a flock and winch, but a lance on the stern pulls the mill in the desired wind direction.

The post mill in Kühnitzsch is a technical monument and is looked after by the Kühnitzsch/Körlitz Local History and Mill Association. Private tours of the mill are available for guests and groups. Arrival & Parking

By public transport: From Leipzig Central Station take the RE50 to Wurzen. In Wurzen change to bus line 660 to Kühnitzsch (Falkenhain), Körlitzer Str.. The destination is about 740 m away on foot.

By car: Take the B6 to Roitzscher Hauptstraße in Wurzen. Take Körlitzer Str., Kühnitzscher Str. and Körlitzer Str. to Mühlenweg in Lossatal.
