The traditions of craftsmanship and in particular those of the shoemaker's guild have been very important in the town of Leisnig for hundreds of years. In honor of this tradition, the two master shoemakers Rolf Neidhardt and Gerhard Berthold made the world's largest leather boot in 1996, the so-called "Leisnig giant boot". With this masterpiece of craftsmanship, they created a monument to the shoemaker's guild in Leisnig. The boot, which is almost 5 meters high, is housed in Burglehn No. 9.
Since this house was the home of the regionally well-known painter Karl Wagler, the entire Wagler Foundation was relocated from the rooms of the neighboring Mildenstein Castle to his home.
