The former residence of the Elector of Saxony is considered the political centre of the
Reformation and one of the most beautiful Renaissance cities in Germany.
The city's over 1.000-year history can be discovered in numerous museums and exhibitions. Hartenfels Castle with the Wendelstein and Bärengraben are particularly worth seeing. Torgau is located on one of the most popular long-distance cycle routes in Germany, the Elbe Cycle Route.

The site is located on a well-kept meadow with a few trees and is idyllically situated on the banks of the Great Pond. Cyclist-friendly facility, only about a 20-minute walk from the historic city center!

The Torgau campsite is idyllically located on the banks of the Great Pond, surrounded by meadows with scattered trees. The campsite is suitable for tents, caravans and mobile homes. It is around 1,6 hectares in size and offers pitches for 50 short-term holidaymakers and 50 long-term campers.

The campsite has play and sports equipment, a small pool and a sanitary building newly built in 2011 with a shower, toilet, washing machine, dryer and baby changing room. There are also two bungalows, each with a bunk bed, a table and 1 chairs, available as simple overnight accommodation.

Sports activities such as sailing or beach volleyball are possible in the immediate vicinity. The spacious area around the large pond offers attractive hiking and cycling opportunities.
The historic city center of Torgau is only a 15-minute walk away.

The parking space is a marked part of the Elbe parking lot with an unobstructed view of the river and Elbe meadows. The terrain is flat to slightly sloping and paved.
