The extensive park was laid out in the English style by Carl Heinrich August von Lindenau at the end of the 18th century. Garden architect EW Glasewald designed the garden buildings, the pyramid, the Hygiea Temple and the imposing ruins of the knight's castle.
The historical landscape park in Machern is best explored on individual tours. Special tours for school classes or children's birthdays are also offered.
